Funimation streaming service is shutting down on April 2nd, 2024 as part of the Crunchyroll merger. Funimation users are in an uproar over the fact that they will lose their entire digital library due to the merger. The merger comes after Sony Pictures acquired Crunchyroll through Funimation for a 1.2 Billion price tag. The merger was announced in December 2020.
